OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JUNE 29, 2004:

MARK ALLAN WINEINGER, MD Davis, California Age 50, of Davis, California, passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2004 surrounded by family and friends after a courageous and inspirational fight against cancer. He was born in Gary, Indiana and raised in Hobart, Indiana. He graduated from Hobart High School, Class of 1971, Purdue University in 1975, and IU Medical School in 1979. Former Flight Surgeon, U. S. Navy. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; a son, David and daughter Amy, all of Davis, CA; parents Lee and Clarice Wineinger of Hobart, IN; 2 brothers, David (Vickie) of Andover, Minnesota and Jim (Cyndi) of Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters Carol (Steve) Elder of Fairland, Indiana and Linda (Jim) Davis of St. Charles, Illinois; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held in Davis, California. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jireh Foundation, a fund founded by Mark for the benefit of indigent families, c/o University Covenant Church, 315 Mace Blvd, Davis, California 95616.
