Fred Higgenbottom (1966)

Mike was my neighbor when as teenagers our families lived on the same street in Hobart, Indiana (Lincoln Street).  We shared the same birth date and celebrated our birthdays together for several years at parties held at my home.  Mike often played pickup baseball games with us and our neighbors in the baseball field we built directly behind my home.  Mike was amazingly strong and quite athletic and although he showed no interest in organized sports he should have.  I still remember his obtaining his drivers license and his first car.  If I remember correctly it was a 1950 Ford with a stick shift on the column and Mike often had to push the car to get it started.  I lost contact with him but was sorry to learn of Mike's death.  Time certainly waits on no man!  Rest in peace Mike!
