Ted Fitzgerald was well known to the many students who were in his classes over the years. He was known for his caring, supportive attitude and the impact he had on the many lives he touched. Ted was a principal at Wilbur Wright Elementary School for many years and also served as a school board member and was a founding member of the New Castle Wrestling Club. Mr. Fitzgerald died in 2007 from cancer. His friends, family and fellow teachers established this scholarship in his memory. D. Ted Fitzgerald Memorial Scholarship.

Ted was the long time Principal at Wilber Wright Elementary School in New Castle, Indiana. Upon his death a scholarship was set up in his name. The city of New Castle is now building a safe walkway in his name.
