John Hitdlebaugh - Class Of 1965

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JANUARY 4, 2004:

John A. Hitdlebaugh of Gretna, LA, passed away Monday, December 22, 2003 in Gretna, after a brief illness. Born in Ionia, MI on Feb. 10, 1947. A graduate of Hobart High School (1965) and Purdue University (1971) with a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Civil Engineers. Employed for 26 years by Gulf Oil and Chevron-Texaco-the past 8 years for their overseas operations in Angola and Nigeria.

Survived by wife Shirley (Huang) Hitdlebaugh. Children: Wendy (David) Sauvage, David (Tiffany) Hitdlebaugh and Lindy Hitglebaugh, all of Gretna, LA. Sister, Patrice Brooks of Crown Point; nephews Bob (Katrice) Brooks and Jeff Brooks. Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins from Michigan. Preceded in death by parents Leonard and Margaret Jean Hitdlebaugh. John was an avid golfer, and enjoyed preparing Cajun foods for his family and many friends. His generous nature and warm smile will be missed by all.

Services were held on Friday, December 26th in Marrero, LA, with private interment.
