OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JANUARY 26, 2010

Peter J. Morganelli, age 64, a longtime resident of Hobart passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010. He was born on January 3, 1946 in Gary, Indiana the son of Peter and Stella Morganelli. Peter was a 1967 graduate of Hobart High School and then went to work for Greenwald Surgical Company where he has worked for over 43 years and currently in their purchasing department. Peter was an avid sports fan who loved watching the Blackhawks and the Cubs. Although he struggled with health issues and had a difficult life he managed to meet each day with a positive attitude. His great joy was his sister and his nieces and nephews and their families.

Peter is survived by his loving family; sister Rosemarie (Tom) Ehrhardt, Hobart, nieces Lisa (Millard) Banker, New Bern, NC, Amy (David) Beier, Valparaiso, and Laura (Rick) Mech, Hobart, nephews Peter (Becky) Morganelli, Tucson, AZ, Thomas Ehrhardt, Valparaiso, and Leon Morganelli, TN, 9 great nieces and nephews, aunt, Rose Gratreak, OR, uncle, John Rado, Hebron and other loving family and dear friends. Peter was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Nicholas Morganelli, and his nephew Scot Christian Ehrhardt.

A visitation for Peter Morganelli will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Rees Funeral Home – Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Rees Funeral Home. Burial will be at Calumet Park Cemetery.
