OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, MARCH 18, 2014:

Ahrendt, Marilyn E. Age 67, of Portage, IN passed away on March 16, 2014. She was born on July 1, 1946 in Uniontown, PA to Melvin H. and Margaret E. (Lambie) Holland, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Ted Ahrendt of Portage; son, Rob (Jean) Ahrendt of Porter; daughter, Charlotte (Jeff) Richey of Chesterton; sister, Maureen (William) Winegar of Portage; grandchildren, Rachel, Emily, and Gracie Ahrendt and Alex, Zach, and Isabel Richey; numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins.

After 30 plus years of working for State Farm Insurance, Marilyn retired to pursue her true calling as a full time devoted grandma. Her legacy is reflected in the thoughtful and compassionate ways she touched many lives.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN 46368, with Father Kevin McCarthy officiating. Burial to follow at Heritage Cemetery in Portage, IN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
