James Routes - Class Of 1967

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JULY 24, 2013:

James R. Routes, age 63, of Englewood, CO, formerly of Hobart, IN, passed away Friday, June 29, 2013, at Denver Hospice Center. He was born September 27, 1949 to Dr. John S. Routes and Dorthory Marie (Massa) Routes.
 
He is survived by his son, Jesse Schierberg of Washington, D.C.; three daughters: Hera Routes Haas of Deep Gap, NC, Bridget Schierberg of Englewood, CO and Michelle Schierberg of Denver, CO; sister, Midge (Marv) Hutnick of Valparaiso, IN; brothers: Tom and Terry Routes, both of Bloomington, IN, Jack (Barb) Routes of Pewaukee, WI and Mark Routes of Port Charlotte, FL; aunt, Loretta (Roger) Redelman of Fairfax, VA; four grandchildren, one great grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. James was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents: Sam and Gladys Routes, and Frank and Esther Massa; and brother, Paul Routes. Jake was loved by friends and family for his irreverent sense of humor. He spent much of his time outdoors, hiking and photographing the beautiful state of Colorado. He took pride in gardening, a skill he learned from his Grandpa Frank. He had a spectacular vegetable garden each year. He was a landscaper in the Denver area. Jake graduated from Hobart High School, class of 1967 and also attended Indiana University Northwest. He will be sorely missed.
 
A private memorial service was held on June 21, 2013 in Pewaukee, WI.

Robert Swisher (1967)

Hey, Root,

Remember planting those Juniper bushes at Lake View Park as our Cub Scout project?  Maybe that's what started the seeds of your interest in landscaping and gardening. LOL.  We had a great friendship!  I've always treasured our times together! GOD Bless you, Jimmy!; Rest in Peace.
