OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JUNE 14, 2008

Barry Trent Banks, age 46, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008. Barry was born on May 23, 1962 to Larry and Patricia Banks. He was a lifelong Hobart resident and graduated from Hobart High School in 1980. He worked as a painter for Banks Design for the past several years, and was a proud member of Painters Local #460 for the past 24 years. Barry enjoyed fishing, cooking on the grill, watching NASCAR and listening to Howard Stern on his Sirius Radio. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Barry is survived by his son, Michael (Jessica) Costello, IV of Hobart; daughters: Amber (Ryan) Patterson of Chicago, IL and Mikell Kidwell of Valparaiso; mother, Patricia Banks of Hobart; brothers: Keith Banks of Hobart and Bryan (Terry Davis) Banks of Hobart; grandchildren: Cameron, Bryce, Xavier and Aidan; and loving companion, Denise Massengill of Hobart and her son, Michael Massengill. Preceded in death by his daughter, Mercedes Sunshine Kidwell; father, Larry Banks; and brother, Kenneth Banks.

Funeral services for Barry will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN with Rev. Jeffrey Carter officiating. Visitation will be Monday, June 16, 2008 from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart. Cremation to follow services.
