William R. "Billy" Sempf - Class Of 1980

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, AUGUST 26, 2011:

WILLIAM R. SEMPF "BILLY" FORMERLY OF HOBART, IN William R. Sempf "Billy", age 48, of Stuart, FL, formerly of Hobart, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2011. Bill was a graduate of Hobart High School, class of 1980. He currently worked for the Allegro Co. Bill was a former Hobart Police Officer. He was a former correctional officer for the Lake County Jail. Bill's passions were hunting and fishing. He was a very compassionate animal lover. Bill moved to Florida in 2009, where he passed away. He was a lifetime member of the National Fishing and Hunting Association.

Bill was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Otto and Daisy Sempf; aunt, Rhea Sempf; and maternal grandparents: Joe and Carol Bencze. He is survived by his father, William V. Sempf; his mother, Carol (Jack) Julian; sister, Cindee (David) Papi; beloved niece and nephew: Rhea and Brock Papi; maternal grandmother, Mary Krystek; aunts: Sue (Ron) Fraser, Nonnie (Dale) McNary, and Sandy (Terry) Leonard; uncle, Mike (Marion) Yurchak; and many other loving and cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Bill's Life will be held for all those who knew and loved Bill from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart. There will be a prayer service at Burns Funeral Home at 5:00 p.m. by Pastor Stroup from Southlake Pentecostal Church of Merrillville.
