OBITUARY FROM THE NW INDIANA TIMES, NOVEMBER 27, 2007

Dale H. Griesel, age 71, of Crown Point, IN, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007. He had been a Crown Point resident for many years. Dale was a 1954 graduate of Hobart High School, received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University in 1958 and his Masters from IU. He was involved in education from 1958 until retiring in May of 1991 as the principal of Virgil I Bailey Elementary School in Lake Station, IN.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents: Harold C. and Vera (nee Schnabel) Griesel. He is survived by two daughters: Kathy (Thomas) Kleban of Valparaiso, IN and Sherry (Ron) Ziulkowski of Portage, IN; four grandchildren: Ashley Kleban and Kristen Kleban both of Valparaiso, IN, Jonathon (fiancee Susan Doane) Ziulkowski of West Lafayette, IN and Natalie Ziulkowski of Portage, IN; one sister, Joyce Griesel of Hobart, IN; aunt, Doris Ireland of Ft. Myers, FL; and friend, Carol Henderson of Crown Point, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dale Griesel Scholarship as part of Lake Station Dollars for Scholars program.
