Dorothy “Pat” L.  Vorpahl Schlageter of Mequon, formerly of Hobart, Ind.,  passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, after 18 years with breast cancer. She was born on Nov. 11, 1935, to Lester and Victoria Vorpahl, who preceded her in death.

Pat was the beloved wife of George for 45 years; the dear mother of Tom Schlageter and Diane Wineland of Folsom, Calif.;  the loving grandmother of Leah, Maddie and Olivia Schlageter, Bailey, Sierra and Bradley Wineland;  and the sister of Ruth Vorpahl of Oshkosh. Pat is also survived by other relatives and many friends. Pat was an avid sports fan and she especially liked to bowl. She was an active member of the Postscripts and church choir.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, June 28 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church,  303 Green Bay Road, Thiensville, with a Memorial Service at 4 p.m. Special thanks to Dr. Allen Torkelson, his staff and the staff of VITAS Hospice. Memorials to Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville or the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
