No doubt, the best athlete that ever came out of Hobart.

I knew John since he was 4 yrs. old.  His parents and mine were great friends.  He was 7 yrs, younger than I.

Great kid, great athlete, great person.

Knew John from being on the basketball team at Hobart. He was a year older. I knew him as the worn out term "competitor". He was one of the best players on the team which said a lot because at that time Hobart basketball was at its peak. When I was a Sophmore and John was a Junior we won the first sectional championship in the history of the school. A huge deal at that time because Indiana still did not have "class" basketball and the state tournament was HUGE. John was a leader, but not a rah-rah type. He led mostly by example. If you screwed up during a game, he would give you "that look". Meaning he knew you screwed up but don't do it again. Of course, we younger guys looked up to him since he was such a great athlete.

Everyone in Hobart at the time knew who John was. He was a celebrity.
