OBITUARY IN NW INDIANA TIMES, DECEMBER 15, 2009:

Patricia Detterline, age 53, of Hobart, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009 at Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. Pat was a lifelong Hobart resident and longtime member of St. Bridget Catholic Church where she served as an usher at the 11:00 a.m. Mass for many years. She was very active with the B.S.A. (Boy Scouts) serving as assistant scoutmaster for Troop 69. Pat received the District Award of Merit. She was also active with the Cub Scouts serving as Pack Committee Chairman and Den Mother. Pat provided in-home private care for seniors.

Patricia is survived by her mother, Jacquelyn Flood of Hobart; three children: Joel (Kristy) Detterline of Hobart, Jason Detterline of Assumption, Illinois and Cassie Detterline of Valparaiso; seven grandchildren; six brothers and sisters: Carl David (Ruth) Flood of Valparaiso, Anne Bretts (R. Wendell Ellis) of Minetonka, MN, Janet (Nick) Korzow of Valparaiso, James (Roberta) Flood of Hobart, Robert (Tina) Flood of Lake Station and John Per Flood (Angela McKelvy) of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 17, 2009 beginning with 9:30 a.m. prayers at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart and then proceeding to St. Bridget Catholic Church for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dominic V. Bertino celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Hobart. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00-9:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 219-942-2109 on online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
