Allan Eric "Sledge" Anderson - Class Of 1962

OBITUARY IN NW INDIANA TIMES, FEBRUARY 4, 2005:

Allan "Sledge" Anderson, age 60, a lifelong resident of Hobart passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at University of Chicago. He worked as a carpenter with the Local Carpenters Union #1005. He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church, and a former member of the Variety Lounge Golf League, and Hawg Hunters of Porter Co. He will be remembered by his family as a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Allan is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Jesse) Cowell of West Palm Beach, FL., Buffy (Robert) Longoria of Corpus Christi, TX.; brothers, Wayne (Norma) Anderson of WI., Richard Anderson of Crown Point; sisters, Marian (Bill) Leets of Hobart, Sharon (Jim) Whittinghill of IL.; grandchildren, Erica and Amber Longoria; great-grandchildren, Alexa Longoria; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Edna Anderson; sister-in-law, Louise Anderson,

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart with Rev. Charles Strietelmier officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Visiting hours will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2005 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart.
