Thomas E. Long, 56, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2000 at St. Mary Medical Center, Hobart. Tom was a lifelong Hobart area resident and retired from EJ&E Railroad. He was a 1962 graduate of Hobart High School, and an Associate member of New Chicago American Legion Post #454.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; three sons, Thomas II (Mary) Long, Marty Long and Mark (Jennifer) Long; three grandchildren: Brittany, Mark and Allen Long, all of Hobart; mother, Beatrice Long of Edgewater, FL; four brothers: William (Andrea) Long of Edgewater, FL. Daniel (Carline) Long of San Mateo, FL, Allen (Debra) Long of Hobart, IN and Bruce (Barb) Long of Interlachen, FL; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, William.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday evening, December 27, 2000, 6 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, IN, with Rev. Rick Oliver officiating. Cremation will follow services. Visitation will be on WEDNESDAY from 2 to 6 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home Hobart Chapel.
