James Robb - Class Of 1952

OBITUARY FROM REES FUNERAL HOME, OCTOBER 12, 2011:

JAMES P. “JIM” ROBB, age 78, died Monday, October 10, 2011. Jim was born on March 22, 1933 in Hobart, Indiana. He was employed for 29 years at A&P Tea Company and retired with 40 years of service as a meat cutter with Local 546. Jim was involved for over 50 years with the Lake Station Little League and committed to District One. Jim was honored this year at Lake Station Little League’s opening day ceremonies where he threw out the first pitch and was presented with a plaque for his many years of dedication. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. 

Jim is survived by his 4 sons, Douglas (Cindy) Robb, Donald (Sylvia) Robb, Ronald Robb and Randall (Pam) Robb; 2 daughters, Ronda (Pam) Robb, Debra (Gregory) Palmer; 14 grandchildren, Shawn, Kristine, Donny, David, Derrick, Daniel, Lucinda, Nick, Emily, Tony, Kevin, Stephanie, Logan, and Carle; 10 great grandchildren; 3 brothers-in-law, Steve Knopic, Chester “Bud” Douthett and Jim Fancher; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Pete (Martha) Lemos, Keith Wagner and many special friends of Little League Organization. Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Jean Ann (nee Largent) and his parents, Leon and Elizabeth (nee Carlisle) Robb; 1 brother, Sonny; 2 sisters, Wilma Knopic and Beverly Fancher.

 

 

 

A funeral service for Jim will be Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with Pastor Bob Burton officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday, October 14, 2011 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, (219) 942-2109 or online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com.
