Arlen Davis - Class Of 1952

OBITUARY FROM THE NW TIMES, MARCH 18, 2008

Arlen K. Davis, age 74 of Valparaiso/Hobart passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008. He was a Hobart resident most of his life graduating from Hobart High School in 1952. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Seabees. Arlen worked as a carpenter for Local 1005. He was a member of the Winamac Old Auto Club and American Legion Post # 54 of Hobart. Arlen loved woodworking and helping his friend, Stanley Kowalewski wrench on his Model-T. A special thank you to Bobby Todd for his devoted friendship.

He is survived by 3 children, Cheryl (fiance-Jerry Gilles) Minton of Portage, Mark (Diane) Davis of Lake Station, Kathryn Reynolds of Portage, 3 siblings, Gene (Sue) Davis of Valparaiso, Terry Davis of Hobart, Susan (Ewald) Wrabl of Hobart, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Elsie Davis and 1 brother, Roger Davis.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Arlen's honor may be made to the American Legion Post 54 of Hobart, 208 South Linda St., Hobart, IN 46342. Funeral services are Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Cremation will follow the services.
