OBITUARY FROM LOHR & BARB FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE, JANUARY 13, 2013:

NANCY ANN BUCKREUS MARTIN, age 77 years, a resident of Elkins, WV departed this life, Wednesday evening, January 9, 2013 at her home. She was born Monday May 27, 1935 at Hartford, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John Claude and Laura Zilch Buckreus. On Saturday May 9, 1981, she was united in marriage to John Perry Martin, Jr. who preceded her in death on March 2, 2012. 

Surviving are two sons, James Douglas Oleson and wife Michiru Sugiyama Oleson of Bloomington, IN. and John Christopher Oleson of Elkins; two grandchildren, John Shiro Oleson and Laura Kimie Oleson; two brothers, Allan John Buckreus of Redding, CA and Larry David Buckreus, five nieces and nephews and their children.

Also preceding her in death are one son; Douglas Dean Oleson, Jr., and many aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Nancy attended the public schools of Hobart Indiana and graduated with the class of 1953. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lawrence College in Appleton Wisconsin, a Bachelor of Science degree from Davis & Elkins College and a Master of Education from West Virginia Wesleyan College. She taught in the states of Washington, Indiana and Randolph County in West Virginia. After leaving the classroom, she tutored privately for many years. After retirement she taught math at the Abundant Life Christian Academy. 

The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Saturday, January 12, 2013 from 11AM to 1 PM the funeral hour. Final Rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, January 10, 2013 at 1:00 PM. The Reverend Doctor Basil A. Hensley will officiate and interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins, WV.
