Raymond W. Rieck - Class Of 1953

RAYMOND W. RIECK, of Hobart, passed away Friday, February 17, 2012. Raymond was born in Gary, IN on July 4, 1933 to Walter and Velma Rieck. He was a lifetime area resident and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Raymond was an US Army veteran and a retired employee of US Steel Garyworks. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
 
Raymond is survived by his loving wife of over 52 years, Alberta “Margaret” Rieck (nee Campbell) of Chesterton; 2 sons, Phillip R. (Vicki) Rieck of Hobart and David (Tina) Rieck of Medaryville; 2 daughters, Tracey R. (Jeff) Morris of Chesterton and Karen M. (David) Klein of Granger; 9 grandchildren, Michael Hack, Jennifer Fisher, Janet Fisher Sasser, Amanda Rieck, Angela Klein, Jessica Rieck, Christopher Rieck, Adam Rieck, and Nathan Klein; 6 great grandchildren, Leo, CJ, Jadon, Alex, Brooklyn, and Kevin; 1 brother, Gene M. (Kathy) Rieck of Griffith; other loving family and dear friends.
 
He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Phillip R. Rieck, Jr. and Jordan E.M. Haack; brother, Norman F. Rieck and his parents.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are preferred.
 
A funeral service for Raymond will be Monday, February 20, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd., Hobart, with President Trevin Fowler officiating. Entombment will follow at Graceland Mausoleum in Valparaiso.
