Joan Carol Alexander (Jank) - Class Of 1953

OBITUARY FROM THE POST-TRIBUNE, APRIL 25, 2007

JOAN CAROL JANK Mountain Home, AR/ Gary, IN area Age 72, of Mountain Home, AR passed away Sunday morning at her home. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jon Gilbert officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 2-4 PM.

Joan was born to Samuel and Gladys (Holmes) Alexander on April 19, 1935 in Hobart, IN. She married William T. Jank on July 31, 1955 in Gary, IN, and they lived in the area until William's retirement. After a brief stay in Arizona, Joan and William moved to Mountain Home in 1981. A friendly and outgoing person, Joan served as a substitute teacher and nurse's aid in the Mountain Home schools, was a hostess for the Mountain Home Bus Agency, but had the most fun with her bowling and the travel associated with the Women's International Bowling Congress tournaments.

Joan is survived by her daughters: Linda (Robert) King and Gloria Jank of Mountain Home; son William Jr. (Donna) Jank of Flippin, AR; grandchildren Rachel (Jeff) Zieleniuk, Robert III (Stephanie) King, Randy King, Kelly Jank, and Steven Jank; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters Norma Jones, Marge Neloff, Mary Narris, and Gloria Loveberg; brothers Robert and Jim Alexander; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, infant son William Bernard Jank, and sisters Arlene Witt and Betty Alexander. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
