GEORGE R. CAMPBELL Age 68, of Hobart, passed away on Friday, September 5, 2003, at the Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, IN. George was born in Hobart on January 30, 1935, to George A. and Clara A. Campbell. George was Vice President of Gatlin Plumbing and Heating in Griffith, IN. George was a member of the Hobart First Christian Church, having served as an Elder Emeritus, Deacon, Trustee, and Chairman of the Board. George was a former charter member of the Hobart Kiwanis, Hobart Jaycees, Boy Scout leader Troop #42, Past President of the Plumbing and Heating Contractors Association of Indiana, the Apprentice Board of Hammond and Hobart locals, The Plumbing Licensing Board of Lake County and the City of Hobart. George was an all around good guy!

George is preceded in death by his parents, George and Clara Campbell, his daughter, Donna, and special friend, Snoopy. George is survived by his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Phyllis Campbell; 4 children, Steven (Terrie) Campbell of Lansing, IL, Karen Collins of Hobart, IN, Sandra (Charles) Hillan of Hobart, IN, Scott (Jo Ann) Campbell of Hobart, IN; 10 grandchildren, Allison, Becky, Daniel, and Claire Campbell, Morgan Collins, Drew and Faith Hillan, Chris, Aaron, and Jennifer Campbell; 1 sister, Kaye Johnston of Hobart, IN; many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at the Hobart First Christian Church, 625 Lake Street, Hobart, IN, with Pastor John Promisson officiating. Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends may call on Monday from 2-9 p.m. at the Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, in Hobart, IN. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to either the Hobart First Christian Church or The Horton VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso in George's Memory.
