Lynn Weiler - Class Of 1950

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JULY 5, 2010

Age 78, a lifelong resident of Hobart passed away on Saturday, July 03, 2010. He was born on August 12, 1931 in Hobart, the son of William and Ethel Weiler. Lynn was a 1949 graduate of Hobart High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Lynn as married to Dolores Moore on December 8, 1968 in Lake Station. Lynn was a retired Captain for the Hobart Fire Department serving for 22 years. He also worked as a school bus driver and in maintenance for the School City of Hobart. Lynn was a great Notre Dame Fan and a Cubs Fan. Lynn was a charter member of the local firefighters union 1641 and was a member of the fire commission. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to all.

Lynn is survived by his loving family Dolores Weiler, Hobart, daughter Terri (Keith) Dhaemers, Valparaiso, grandson Chris (Tara) Dhaemers, Valparaiso, great-grandchildren Rylie and Tyler Dhaemers, his best friend Bud Hanes, Portage, and other loving family and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Nancy Jo Weiler in 1978, and his sister Hazel Weiler.

A visitation for Lynn Weiler will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Rees Funeral Home – Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service for Lynn Weiler will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Rees Funeral Home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
