David (Dave) Tolliver - Class Of 1961

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, OCTOBER 30, 2008:

David J. Tolliver, 65, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2008. He was born March 6, 1943 in LaPorte to Delbert and Viola (Kneifel) Tolliver. He graduated from Hobart High School, served in the U.S. Army and had been a Quality Assurance Inspector in the plate mill and basic oxygen furnace at Bethlehem Steel, retiring with 30 years of service. Dave was a member of Southlake Christian Church in Crown Point. He enjoyed his grandkids, the Cubs, traveling, bowling and his Corvette.

Survivors include his wife, Norma; two step-children: Sheila Miller and Scott (Vicki) Miller both of Valparaiso; four grandchildren: Brittany Nevill, and Collin, Ethan, and Carson Miller; one brother, Jerry (Bonnie) Tolliver of Valparaiso; sister-in-law, Judy Maffris of Wheeling, IL; step- sister, Melody (Bill) Prohaska of Valparaiso; two uncles: Art (Shirley) Kneifel and Don (Nancy) Kneifel both of Kouts; aunt, Doris (Les) Earle of LaCrosse; nephew, Joseph Tolliver of Valparaiso; two nieces: Jamie (Paul) Forney of LaPorte and Nicole (Todd) Johnston of New York. Preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 31, 2008 at 10:30 AM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso with Pastor Ryan Gilroy officiating. Burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Resource Center of Northwest Indiana.
