Joe Wojciechowski (Wojihowski) - Class Of 1961

INFORMATION FROM LINDA SMITH HOMINGER, HHS CLASS OF  1961:

Deceased Classmate: "1961" " joseph wojciechowski (wojihowski), jr"
Date Of Birth: august -7-1943
Date Deceased: nov-29 -2011
Age at Death: 68
Cause of Death:
Classmate City: bluffton
Classmate State: AR
Classmate Country: USA
Was a Veteran: Yes Air Force

Survived By: wife, Pamela and two daughters, Tawnya Reichenback (Andreas) & Teresa Durham (David). Also two sisters, Linda Seamon & Lisa Schaler (Chris): one brother, Jerry Wojihowski: and two grandchildren, Hunter & Daniel. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sr. and his mother Sophie died in 2014.

According to Joe's obituary Joe was born in Gary, Indiana & he was catholic. His life was lived with passion for all challenges that came his way-from a saddle bronco rider to a rancher. He was a lover of music with the patience to become an accomplished musician as a flamingo guitarist, a mariachi accordion player (I have a photo of him playing the accordion in elementary school at Mundell in our fifth grade play of 'April in Paris'), a bluegrass fiddler, and any other instrument he set his mind to. He was a skilled craftsman in "old school" metalwork, and artist with pen and ink, and a bibliophile with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and perhaps too much enthusiasm in sharing that knowledge.

Joe was the last of the cowboys, never happy with doing it the easy way. He was a man's man who loved and served his country as an Air Force crew commander. He was a successful Industrialist that allowed him to achieve his dream of turning back the clock to a simpler time when sweat and pride were the best reward for a job well done. Joe was a cowboy, a musician, an artist, and a dreamer. Though he may have had his shoes on the day he took his last ride on an iron horse, this was one guy who did die with his boots on. Joe is missed and loved by all who knew him.

(All of the above information was obtained from Joe's obituary found on the internet from a local Bluffton Arkansas Funeral Home.) As a fellow classmate and neighbor of Joe's during our early years I always enjoyed spending time with him. I remember visiting with him and his lovely wife Pam at our class reunion and discussing some of the vast knowledge he had regarding horses. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Both our names starting with "W" meant we always sat in the same back corner in class. He was always friendly. I envied him because he occasionally rode his horse to school. It was my misfortune that I never got to know him well. When we connected at a HHS reunion, we discovered we had a lot in common. I regret that I never got to hear him play fiddle or guitar, and that we didn't stay in touch after high school.
