OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, APRIL 12, 2005:

GARY W. HAMMAR Age 50 of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2005 in Ohio. He was born on April 11, 1954 in Cirencester, England, to Geraldine (nee Barnes) and William Hammar. Gary was a Graduate of Hobart High School, Class of 1972 and Indiana State University, Class of 1977. On April 9, 1994, he married Janet K. Sipkema, who survives. He was a self employed farmer and was affiliated with the American Reformed Church, DeMotte, IN. His hobbies were NASCAR and camping.

Gary Hammar is survived by: his wife, Janet K. (nee Sipkema) Hammar of DeMotte, IN; mother, Geraldine (nee Barnes) Hammar of Hobart, IN; children, Brittany Hammar of Muncie, Indiana, Elyse Hammar of Covington, KY, Colin Hammar of Chesterton, IN and Cassi Hammar, Chesterton, IN; and sister, Robin Hammar of Hessville, IN. Gary Hammar was preceded in death by his father, William Hammar.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 12, 2005 from 2;00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Jackson Funeral Service, 200 Third St. SW, Demotte, IN. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at the American Reformed Church, Demotte, IN with Pastor Dan Jelsma officiating.
