OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, JANUARY 1, 2009:

William T. Lundy, age 69, of Portage, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008. William was born on April 19, 1939 to Archie and Melva "Amy" (nee Smith) Lundy. He retired with 36 1/2 years of service as an ironworker with Local #395. William was a graduate of Hobart High School. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Dunes #741 and the Scottish Rite, South Bend Valley.

William is survived by his wife, Wanda of Portage; 2 sons, William (Stephanie) Lundy II and Jeffrey (Laura) Lundy both of Portage; 1 daughter, Tamara (Andrew) Reinhart of Valparaiso; 7 grandchildren, Tyler and Elaina Gerlach, Megan, Catherine and William III Lundy, Ellen and Nathan Lundy; 1 brother, Robert Lee Lundy of Lake Station; mother-in-law, Velma Owens of Portage; and many aunts, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Amy Lundy, brother, Archie "Gene" E. Lundy, and sisters-in-law, Audrey and Susan Lundy, and nephew, Tim Lundy.

Memorials in William's name are preferred to VNA Hospice. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 3, 2009, 3:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage.
