OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, DECEMBER 23, 2007:

NICHOLAS VASIL MORGANELLI Tucson, Arizona Age 66, a longtime Hobart resident, passed away in AZ on Friday, December 21, 2007. Nick was a graduate of Hobart High School, class of 1959 and a member of HHS Band. He was formerly employed as a chef at Walts Restaurant on 5th Avenue in Gary. He worked as a Special Events Food Director at McCormick Place in Chicago and was a former chef at the Gary Country Club. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Local #428 Operating Engineers while living in Tuczon, AZ.

He is survived by 2 sons: Peter (Rebecca) Morganelli II of Tucson, AZ and Leon Robert Morganelli of Oakland, TN; 1 sister, Rosemarie (Tom) Ehrhardt of Hobart; 1 brother, Peter John Morganelli of Hobart; aunt, Rose Gratreak (Olayos) of OR; uncle, John Rado of Hebron, IN; nieces and nephews: Dr. Lisa (Dr. Millard) Banker of NC, Amy (Dave) Beier of Valparaiso Township, Laura (Rick) Mech of Hobart and Thomas (Kristy) Ehrhardt of Valparaiso; 9 great nieces and nephews; many cousins. Former wife and mother of his children, Barbara. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Stella L (Rado) and Peter Morganelli.

Funeral services Friday, December 28, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. at the Burns Funeral Home, 701 E. 7th Street, Hobart with Rev. Dominic Bertino officiating. Services will terminate at the Burns Funral Home with cremation to follow at the Burns Funeral Home crematory. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. (time of services).
