OBITUARY FROM THE POST-TRIBUNE, JULY 24, 2011:

Cooper, Rose Mary (nee Sable), age 84, of Portage, passed away July 16, 2011. She graduated from Hobart High School in 1945.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert T. Cooper. Rose Mary is survived by her children, Michael (Judi) Cooper of Crown Point, Cheryl (Sal) Valeika of Valparaiso, and David (Cynthia) Cooper of Houston, TX, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and niece, Michele (Herman) Lovette of Lawrence, Kansas. Rose Mary lived a full life from belly dancing to traveling around the world. She was always there to lend a helping hand and truly loved her family. She is already missed deeply.

As per her wishes a family celebration will be held at a later date. Because of the generous help given her by the Lions Club, memorial contributions may be directed to them. Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway Crown Point, IN in charge of arrangements.
