Jeanette Maxine McCay (Garber) - Class Of 1945

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, AUGUST 20, 2007:

Jeanette M. Garber, age 80, a lifelong resident of Hobart, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2007. She was born on July 15, 1927 in Rensselaer, Indiana, the daughter of John and Opal McCay. Jeanette was a 1945 graduate of Hobart High School. Jeanette married Edward Garber on July 15, 1945 and they have celebrated 62 years of marriage. Jeanette loved art and photography and belonged to many art clubs. She also enjoyed water-skiing and loved to take care of her family and her grandchildren.

Jeanette is survived by her loving husband, Edward Garber, Hobart; daughter, Micki Kay Garber, Buda, TX; sons, Robert W. Garber, Hobart, and Steve (Asia) Garber, Genoa, WI; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and other loving family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Jerry and Alvin Maher.

A visitation for Jeanette Garber will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Funeral services will follow immediately at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2007. Entombment will be in Graceland Cemetery, located in Valparaiso.
