OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, MARCH 8, 2009:

Richard "Dick" Julian, age 80, of Crown Point, passed away March 2, 2009. He was a graduate of Hobart High School and attended Ball State University. Mr. Julian was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post #20. He served as a board member for Center Township and the Lake County Agricultural Society. Dick also served on the Lake County Fair Board of Directors.

Dick was preceded in death by brothers: Ralph, Jr. and Harry; and sisters: Betty Fisher and Joan Lee. He is survived by his wife, Dixie Julian of Crown Point; daughter, Jaye (William) Recupido of Lowell; granddaughter, Jessie Rose Smock of Lowell; brothers: Jack (Carol) Julian of FL and Robert (Randy) Julian of Valparaiso; sisters: Rachel (Kris) Kristophel of Hobart and Judith (Eugene) Hollingsworth of Portage; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Monday, March 9, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point with Rev. Doug Klukken officiating. Cremation will precede the service.
