Ralph Luke - Class Of 1949

OBITUARY FROM POST-TRIBUNE, FEBRUARY 20, 2007:

RALPH A. LUKE Valparaiso, Indiana Formerly Hobart, Indiana Age 75, passed away suddenly while in Florida. Ralph had been a Valparaiso resident for the last 28 years, formerly of Hobart for 47 years. He was born and raised in Hobart and was a Hobart High School graduate, Class of 1949. Ralph was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He had been the owner and operator of Luke Oil since 1966. He was a life member of Hobart American Legion Post #54 and Kostbade Fowble VFW Post #5365. Ralph was an active lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Hobart, serving presently as the Head Usher. He was formerly the church treasurer and a member of the Board of Elders.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lois Luke (nee Maddack); 4 children: Daniel (Justine) Luke of Chesterton, IN, Amy L. (Douglas) Benda of Valparaiso, IN, Linda (Britt) Shipley of Valparaiso, IN and Debra (Tom) Collins of Valparaiso, IN; 4 brothers: Robert Luke of Hobart, IN, Harry Luke of Hobart, IN, George (Jane) Luke of Hobart, IN and Don Luke of Hobart, IN; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 daughters, Sandra and Arlene Luke, and Crystal Jasiak, sister, Dorothy Jones, and parents, Ray and Martha Luke.

Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be given to Trinity Lutheran School and Church. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 22, 2007, 11:00 a.m. from Trinity Lutheran Church, 900 Luther Dr., Hobart with Rev. Gary Nagy officiating.
