Linda C. Parrish, age 76 of Chicago, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at home. She was born on May 22, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Chris and Beatrice Parrish. A 1965 graduate of Hobart High School, she went on to Indiana University Bloomington where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English. She worked as an Executive Secretary for J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency in Chicago. Linda was an avid reader and she loved traveling with her family. She was a self-proclaimed foodie and enjoyed experiencing new restaurants and different types of food. 

She is survived by her best friend and companion of 49 years, Frank Rhode of Chicago; sister, Kathleen Lazart of Hobart; niece, Julie Lazart of Valparaiso; great nephews, Riley and Reece Balog of Valparaiso. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris Parrish and Beatrice Addison; and nephew, Christopher Lazart. Memorial contributions in Linda’s name may be made to PAWS Chicago at www.pawschicago.org.  

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. A funeral service will take place on Sunday at 4:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in a private service at Evergreen Memorial Park. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
