Anthony (Tony) Sailors - Class Of 1982

OBITUARY INFORMATION FROM REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE:

ANTHONY EUGENE SAILORS, age 58, of Hobart, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023 at VNA Hospice.  He was born on September 10, 1964 in Gary, Indiana.  Anthony married the love of his life, Theresa Best, on September 4, 1998 in Portage. He was a member of Fairhaven Baptist Church. He enjoyed driving motorcycles and trucks and also taught his brother how to drive a truck, which then allowed him to drive during his summer breaks.  Tony started his concert going at the young age of 10 and loved all genres of music, especially hard rock. Above all, he loved his family and cherished the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Theresa (nee Best); 3 sons, Joshua Shockley, Matthew (Jessie) Gardner, Jeremy (Brianna) Gardner; 2 daughters, Cynthia Sailors and Ashley (Nick) Kegebein; 13 grandchildren; mother, Jean Sailors; brother, Kenneth Sailors; sister, Diana (Samuel) Hodges; sisters-in-law, Tanya (Melvin) Hammonds and Michelle (Jeff) Flory; brothers-in-law, William (Amanda) Best and Roger (Linda) Best other loving family and friends.

Anthony was preceded in death by his daughter, Melinda Morningstar; father, Anthony John Sailors; 2 brothers, Richard and James Sailors; and uncle, Andrew Sailors.

Visitation for Anthony will be Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Funeral service will be Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Homes, with Pastor Jeremiah Mitchell officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.
