Bobbie Lee Beckett - Class Of 1953

OBITUARY FROM BROSMER-KEMPER FUNERAL HOME (FRENCH LICK, IN) WEBSITE:

Bobbie Lee Beckett, age 85, of West Baden Springs, Indiana entered into eternal rest on February 4th, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Ellwood, Indiana on July 26th,1935 to Robert and Ruby (Hamm) Beckett.

Bobbie married Mary Lou Lawrence on October 9th, 1965 in Hobart, Indiana, and she survives. He was preceded in death by his Parents; (2) Sisters – Carol and Kay; and (1) Son – Terry Lee Beckett.

Bobbie was a skilled machinist and had worked for Isaksson Motors, U.S. Steel, and privately for Kaiser.  (It was at Kaiser that Bobbie met his wife Mary Lou when he repaired her trapeze).  He then worked at Ability Engineering and finished his career at Midwest Steel. 
He had numerous hobbies as a skilled woodworker, leatherworker, Boy Scout Leader, range master, outdoorsman, and craftsman.

(9) Grandchildren                    Julie Beckett, Stacie Evans (Justin), Brandie Beckett, Mikayla Johnson (Christopher),

                                             Cecilia Fisher, Morgan Calhoun, Jonathan Beckett, Anthony Fisher, and Olivia Fisher.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE CEREMONY

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be conducted by Jim O’Connell on Friday, February 19th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church in French Lick, Indiana.

There will be a private burial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75231-4596.
