William Hughes - Class Of 1953

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, MARCH 2, 2018:
 
William C. Hughes age 83, of Valparaiso, IN passed away on February 27, 2018. He was born December 31, 1935 to the late Charles and Cora Hughes. He is survived by his brother, Edward Hughes of Fishers, IN; nephew, Brian (Heather) Hughes of Glenview, IL; niece, Karen (Keith) Kleinmaier of Fishers, IN; great nieces and nephews: Riley, Dylan and Madesyn Hughes and Owen, Cooper, Maisey and Jackson Kleinmaier; sister in law, Gayle Barnett; and step children: Norma Richardson, Robert Merchant and James Merchant. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret Hughes.
 
Bill served as a mechanic in the Army, earning the Good Conduct Medal and Motor Mechanic Badge. Special Thanks to the staff at Aperion Care (Valparaiso) and VNA Hospice (Valparaiso) for the exceptional care and attention they provided.
 
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at CALUMET PARK FUNERAL CHAPEL (7535 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN) with Pastor Craig Forwalter officiating. Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
