Lillian A. Umlauft (Cooper) - Class Of 1953

OBITUARY FROM REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE, MARCH 19, 2017:
 
Lillian Anne Cooper (nee Umlauft), age 81, of Hobart, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017. She was born on July 31, 1935 in Park Falls, WI to the late Floyd and Florence Umlauft. On February 20, 1954 in Long Beach, CA, she married Sidney Cooper, Jr. Lillian was a 1953 graduate of Hobart High School. She graduated from Indiana University Northwest School of Medicine in 1979 with an Associate of Science degree in Medical Records Technology. As a Registered Health Information Technician and Certified Coding Specialist, Lillian was employed at hospitals in Indiana, Illinois and Florida. She was a member of the American Health Information Management Association and the Indianapolis American Legion Auxiliary. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting and reading.
 
She is survived by her sons, James (Debra Martin) Cooper of Gary, David Cooper of Hobart; daughters, Linda (Donald) Seberger of Libertyville, IL, Susan (Michael) Stanzak of Waterloo, NY; grandchildren, John (fiancée, Sara Tekavec) Seberger, Kenneth (partner, Samantha Hulbert) Young II; great grandchild, Ada Young; brother, Lyle (Janice) Umlauft; sister, Barbara Wilhelm; numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Cooper, Jr.; son, Michael Cooper; grandson, William Seberger; sister, Shirley Umlauft. Memorial contributions in Lillian’s name may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
 
A funeral service for Lillian will take place Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 5:00 pm at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in a private burial. For more information, please call (219) 942-2109.
