PORTER COUNTY -- Dorothy C. Ingram (nee Flick) passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 26, 2012.
Dorothy was a lifelong Porter County resident. She was a member of the Portage First United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #314.

Dorothy helped her husband farm the Porter County area all their lives.

Dorothy leaves behind her husband of 72 years, Edward O. Ingram; daughter, Betty (Dwayne) Evensen; daughter-in-law, Connie Ingram; sister-in-law, Shirley Flick; five grandchildren: Kelly (Matt) Vincent of St. Louis, Tracy (Mike) Wellinghurst of Las Vegas, Ginger (Bill) Stocky of Valparaiso, Lori (Grant) Monahan of Portage and Lisa Greavu of Kouts; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Ingram; brother, Charles B. Flick; sister, Leotta Manteuffel; parents: Charles and Isabell Flick; grandson, Robert Greavu; and great- grandson, Adam Maletta.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from the Kraft Funeral Services and Crematory, 370 N. County Line Road, Hobart. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Portage United Methodist Church of VNA Hospice in Valparaiso.

Dorothy M. Ingram, age 99, former resident of Hebron for 51 years, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Imboden Creek Living Center in Decatur, IL.

She was born in Britton Run, PA on September 7, 1912, the daughter of Frank and Lillian (Potter) Platt.

She married E. Wirt Ingram on August 2, 1930 and they resided in Spartansburg, PA until 1949. Mrs. Ingram is survived by her children: Duane (Donna) Ingram of Hebron, IN, Troy (Marilyn) Ingram of Richmond, IN, and Phyllis (Dennis) Roby of Warrensburg, IL; half-sister, Gail Kay Ruggiero of Columbia, MD; seven grandchildren: Debi (Bill) Shertzer of Granger, IN, Denise (Ray) Smith of Hebron, IN, Kyle (Beth) Ingram of Richmond, IN, Kip (Cindy) Ingram of Floyd Knobs, IN, Kerri (Steve) Brown of Richmond, IN, Brock (Anne) Roby of Pleasanton, CA, and Tara (Rich) Hardt of Overland Park, KS; and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on June 3, 1999; sisters: Marjorie Snapp and Ethelyn McAninch; infant brother, Frank Platt Jr.; and grandson, Daniel Ingram.

Dorothy was a homemaker, dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully in the United Methodist Women's Society. She was also a member of the Fortnightly Club, World War II Mother's Organization, Hebron Historical Society and Order of the Eastern Star of Union City, Pennsylvania. Dorothy worked 25 years at Child's and Patz's grocery stores in Hebron. She enjoyed crafts, quilting, antiques, photography, entertaining in her home and corresponding with family and friends. She and her husband traveled to St. Cloud, FL for 18 years where they enjoyed the winter months.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Hebron United Methodist Church, 202 W. Church St., Hebron, IN. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Hebron United Methodist Church in Hebron, IN with Pastor Kathie Jones officiating. Entombment at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN. Memorial donations may be made to the Hebron United Methodist Women's Society, P.O. Box 96, Hebron, IN 46341 or Alzheimer's Association, P.O.
