OBITUARY FROM HIPPENSTEEL FUNERAL HOME (LAFAYETTE, IN) WEBSITE:
Dr. Roger Edward Lysiak, 71, died peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday morning, October 24th, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Roger was born on October 12th, 1953, at St. Mary’s Mercy Hospital in Gary, IN to parents Eugene Lysiak and Alice Pulz. Roger was a curious intellectual from a young age and never met a project he couldn’t conquer, whether it be a hydroplane or a salvage car (having repaired and sold over 30 vehicles during his lifetime).
A graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Des Moines, IA, Roger’s legacy as a chiropractor spanned 42 years as he helped hundreds of patients in the Lafayette community.
Roger was an avid fisherman and was happiest when near a body of water. He was an animal lover who showed kindness to any creature that crossed his path. Roger had a true appreciation for not only listening to, but playing music, and could be seen frequently practicing his guitar.
He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 42 years, Susan Todd, and his five children: Bob, Carla, Jim, Wesley, and Sarah; grandchildren: Emma, Ethan, and James. Sister, Evelyn Rogers.
A memorial service for Roger will be held Friday, November 1, 2024 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. His visitation will be 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Service at 7:00 p.m. Please share your memories and condolences online with the family at www.hippensteelfuneralservice.com

FROM GREG MIHAL, CLASS OF 1971:
I met Rog when I was 5 years old, he was like a brother to me, we always kept in touch, went through a lot of crazy times together. I called him on his birthday not knowing how bad he was. He died in his sleep 12 days later. I miss him greatly.
