Gail Zelenka (Woods) - Class Of 1965 VIEW PROFILE

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JUNE 17, 2018:
 
Gail Arden Woods (nee Zelenka), age 71 of Hobart, Indiana and Palmetto, Florida passed away on June 15, 2018. She was born on November 15, 1946, in Gary, IN, to the late Jerry and Shirley Zelenka. She was a lifelong Hobart resident and a 1965 graduate of Hobart High School. Mrs. Woods served as a leader of the Hobart Live Wires 4-H club after being a 4-H member in Lake County for 10 years. During her employment years, Mrs. Woods worked at Monarch Oil in Gary, IN; was a Vice President of Hobart Nursery, Inc., and worked as a market information collector for AC Neilson. In 1998 she retired after 12 years as Assistant Principal's Secretary at Hobart Middle School, and then worked part time for HR Imaging School Photography Studio. Gail and her husband (of 51yrs.) George lived at least six months each year in Florida after retirement, acquiring close friendships around the country.
 
Gail is survived by her loving husband, George F. Woods; son, Geoffrey S. Woods; grandsons: Shane G. Woods and Nolan A. Woods, of Hobart; son in law, Gregory D. McCauley; grandsons: Evan G. McCauley and Noah D. McCauley of Granger, Indiana; sister, Karen L. Goad of Hobart, IN; special friends, Jim and Cindy Haywood of Florida. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Geodi C. (nee Woods) McCauley in 2006; her father, Jerry Zelenka in 2010 and her mother, Shirley Zelenka 2015.
 
Funeral services for Gail will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at REES FUNERAL HOME, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart, Indiana, with Pastor Michael Cover officiating. Visitation for Gail will be held Monday, June 18, 2018 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel. (219) 942-2109 or online at www.reesfuneralhomes.com
