OBITUARY FROM REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE, OCTOBER 10, 2014:

Robert A. “Bob” Gresser, age 70, of Portage and formerly of Hobart passed away Tuesday October 7, 2014 at his home. Bob was born May 4, 1944 in Gary, Indiana to the late Frank and Marie (Buergler) Gresser. Bob retired from USX where he was a shipping coordinator. After that he worked for S.D.I. in their shipping department for several years. He was always ready to assist anyone in his family that needed help.

Bob is survived by his wife of 47 years Phyllis; three sons Rob (Valerie) Gresser of Powell, TN, Joe (Karla) Gresser of Michigan City and Chris (Diana) Gresser of Wylie, TX; ten grandchildren; two brothers Frank Gresser and Joe Gresser both of Hobart; three sisters Sister M. Francis of Plainfield, IL, Barbara (Keith) Huard of Munster and Marjorie Gresser of Hobart.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 am Saturday October 11, 2014 at St Bridget Church (at the corner of Front and Center Streets in Hobart) with Rev Dominic V. Bertino officiating. Visitation will be from 2-7 pm Friday at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Road Hobart, IN 46342 and from 9-10 am Saturday at the Church.

Memorial gifts are preferred to the Hobart Food Pantry or the Portage Food Pantry in lieu of flowers.
