Dorothy Cox (Woodruff) - Class Of 1962

OBITUARY FROM THE QUAD CITIES DAILY (SHOALS, AL) WEBSITE, APRIL 2017:
 
Dorothy Charlene Cox Woodruff , 72 of Joppa passed away on Monday April 3, 2017. She joins her husband and other family members in Heaven.

Mrs. Woodruff was born April 30, 1944 in Champaign Illinois, the daughter of Glenn Cox and Waneta Hastings Cox. She married Paul Nolen Woodruff on September 24, 1966. He preceded her in death on January 9, 1995. She lived in Hobart Indiana for more than 50 years. In 1966 she was a member of the Hobart Civil Defense. She started out as a Brownie in Girl Scouts and continued until she became a leader, serving for 25 years. She graduated in 1962 from Hobart schools and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hobart. She and her husband were foster parents to John Barth and Lynn Vesley. After moving to Tennessee in 2004 she became a member of the Ft. Donelson Memorial United Methodist Church in Dover Tennessee and the Stewart County Senior Citizens Center, in the fall of 2016 she moved to Joppa Alabama.

She is survived by her siblings and in laws: Linda and Tom Cullen; Charles and Karen Cox, Ellen and Jerry Anderson and Jane and Doug McDaniel; nieces: Suzette and John Pugh, Amanda and Chris Leak, Kimberly West, Erin and Chris McColley, Courtney Cox and Jennifer and David Lucas; nephews: Michael Cullen and Jeff and Melissa Anderson. Eleven great nephews and nine great nieces and three great great nieces and three great great nephews; many cousins and other family members. She is also survived by her special friend: Betty Lariccia Tragesser. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband: Paul; her parents, her brother: Carl Cox, brother-in-law: Michael Cullen, nephew James Cullen, great nephew Preston Leak, foster son: John Barth and special friend: Carl Barker.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Idaville Cemetery in Idaville, Indiana.
