Orvin "Butch" Mills - Class Of 1974

OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JANUARY 21, 2016:

Orvin Lester "Butch" Mills, 60 of Michigan City, formerly of Westville, passed away January 13, 2016 at his residence of natural causes. He was born November 30, 1955 in Gary, the son of Ottis Lee and Dorothy Alvina (Hjellming) Mills, who preceded him in death. Orvin was a US Navy Veteran serving on the Ashtabula (A0-51) out of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii and a guard at the Westville Correctional Facility for over 25 years. Orvin was a 1974 graduate of Hobart High School.

Surviving is his son, Orson "Buck" Mills of Porter; a grandson Riley Christopher Mills; his sisters: Dusk Darling (Carroll) Combs of Valparaiso and SR. Dawn Annette Mills O.S.B. of Clyde, Missouri; and half-sisters: Jackie Prczeniczny of Ft. Wayne and Barbara Russ of Medaryville.

Services will be held Monday, January 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W. Walnut St. in Westville. Friends and family will gather from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. www.newhardfuneralhome.com
