James M. Spence, age 50, of Portage, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 at home. He was born on April 8, 1970 in Gary, Indiana to James and Judith Spence. Jimmy had a heart of gold and would give anyone the shirt off his back. He will always be remembered for his loving spirit. He enjoyed listening to 70’s and 80’s rock music and cooking. He loved dogs, motorcycles and flowers.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy Spence; parents, James and Judy Spence; brothers, Matthew (Kimberly) Spence of South Bend, Mark (Debbie) Spence of Hobart; sister, Mary Beth (Daymond) Quick of Chesterton; nieces and nephews, Andrea (Brad) Klisurich, Mark (McKenna) Spence, Hannah Spence, Taylor Spence, Paige Spence, Kaliegh Quick, Austin Quick, Zoe Quick; great nieces and great nephews, Mason and Mallory Spence, Lorelai and Tegan Klisurich, Atlas White; cousin and good friend, Adam (Lindsey) Spence;  many other loving family members and friends.

All services are private. He will be laid to rest at Walkerton Woodlawn Cemetery in Walkerton, Indiana.
