Donald Mundell - Class Of 1946

Mundell, Donald R. "Pa" Age 82 of Hobart passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011. He was born on September 2, 1928 in Hobart Indiana to the late Joseph and Ethel Mundell. He was a lifetime Hobart resident and graduated from Hobart High School in 1946. He was the owner and operator of Mundell Flower Shop and Mundell County Line Greenhouse. Donald was a former member of the Hobart First Christian Church. He was also a member of the West Side Businessmens's Club and the Hobart Rotary Club. He was active in Indian Guides with his son. Donald loved woodworking, was a Civil War buff, was an avid Brickie fan and bowled for many years at Hobart Lanes.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Marilyn Jean Mundell (nee Jordan) of Hobart, IN; 2 sons, Michael (Jesilin) Mundell of Hobart, IN; Steven (Traci) Mundell of Indianapolis, IN; 1 daughter, Kathryn (Robert) Mundell-Bligh of Bloomington, IL; 1 sister, Shirley (Henry) Stozek of Hobart, IN; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Robert, James, Joseph, and Kenneth Mundell, and 3 sisters, Edna Toering, Clara Thompson, and Sarah Boruff.

Funeral services are Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart with Mr. Ron Buche officiating. Cremation will follow with Rees Funeral Home and Cremation service. Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, 2011 just prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Hobart Chapel.
