OBITUARY FROM NW INDIANA TIMES, JUNE 28, 2015:

Lorraine J. Donley, age 90, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2015. She was born on June 14, 1925 in Boone, Iowa to Albert and Margaret (Woods) Swanson, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons: William (Mary) Donley of Porter, Charles (Debra) Donley of Valparaiso, Richard (Aimee) Donley of Salina, Kansas, Casey (Donna) Donley of Chesterton, Scott (Ashley) Donley of Turlock, CA; brother, Leo Swanson; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Donley; son, Robert Donley; grandchild, William Donley; sister, Anna Peacock; brothers: Glen Swanson, Albert Swanson and longtime friend, Bruce Palmer.

Lorraine was a graduate of Hobart High School class of 1942. During WWII Lorraine trained at Mercy Hospital in Gary, she later became a nurse at Porter Memorial Hospital. Family meant everything to Lorraine, she was a loving mother of six sons. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Lorraine enjoyed football, she was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and especially Peyton Manning.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Edmonds and Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, IN with Pastor Scott Tyring officiating. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lorraine's honor may be made to the Monticello Christian Church, 105 Gordon Rd., Monticello, IN 47960.
