Dear Gene,

It has been a long time since we have talked and you are missed. I was remembering back over all the time we have known you. When we first moved to Santa Monica in the late 70’s we lived a block up from your 7-11 store on Wilshire Blvd. We first met you as we were Buddhists and we shared our faith when we could. We had our son, Eric and went into the Amway business. We shared the Amway sales and marketing plan with you and got to know you a little better. Through that process we became Christians and to our surprise found out that you too were Christian, what joy!

We had some times of sweet fellowship. We were honored to take care of all your plants when you moved and got resettled. We had quite a backyard garden. We moved also but were blessed to keep in touch from time to time. You helped fund some ministry projects, and we were so grateful.

James stopped by and to his surprise you were no longer at the store and someone else had taken your place. We went to your house and you were not there either. A neighbor told us you were at the Sunrise place. We came and you told us of your health problems and we felt sad and did whatever we could. For the last few years it has been extremely difficult to keep in touch physically as we were going to move out of state. You had called James when we were in Colorado, but we did return to California.

James has had health problems also. We have lost quite a few friends from this world as well. James was close to visiting heaven also but has been slowly recovering and feels better. At the same time we have had to move again and are without transportation. We have called you and spoke on the phone but the last few times we were told that you would not recognize us and we are grieved. We had written you a few letters and have not had a reply but we have always continued to pray for you. Whenever we look at the clock and it says 7:11 we think and pray for you again.

We have always thought of you as an uncle and because of your help our family has come through difficult situations. We appreciate you. We wanted to tell you that Sheila, our daughter is getting married and we wish you could come and be apart of the family gathering. Gene, you are missed. There is so much that we could have shared together. We will have to save that for heaven. This is a testing place and when we have finished down here, we will meet in heaven at the marriage of the Lamb. There we can start up anew.

Again you are in our hearts and prayers. If you remember us, we would love to talk with you and see you again. Our phone number and address are the same.

Blessings with all our love,
