Rich Cawley - Class Of 1983

OBITUARY FROM THE REES FUNERAL HOME WEBSITE:

Richard “Kunkle” “Grumpy Old Man” E. Cawley, age 55, of Hobart passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart.  He was born in Gary, Indiana on July 14, 1964 to the late William and Mary (nee Shaw) Cawley, Sr.  Richard enjoyed fishing, cars, and was a jack of all trades. 

Richard is survived by his sisters, Kathy Tapp, Judy Martin; brother, Tom (Linda Cullen) Cawley; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; his dog, Dixie; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, George, and Jim Cawley; and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or a charity of your choice.

Due to COVID-19 limitations, a restricted visitation for Richard’s family and friends will be held on Friday, May 15, 2020 from 4-7 P.M at Rees Funeral Home, 600 W. Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN 46342. During this time only 25 people will be allowed into the building at a time to pay their last respects.  A funeral service with Pastor Bob Burton officiating will take place following visitation at 7:00 P.M.  He will be laid to rest at Ridgelawn Cemetery.  For more information, please call 219-942-2109.
