Robert “Bob” Joseph Hansen, age 76, a lifelong Hobart resident passed away November 14th, 2023. He was born December 27th, 1946 in Gary, Indiana to the late Robert and Fern Hansen.

He graduated from Hobart High School class of 1965. Bob was retired from Inland Steel with over 30 years of service. He was a lifelong member of New Life Community Church formerly Hobart Baptist.

He had a true passion for watches and an extensive collection to show for it. He loved to read, especially magazines and loved to shop the L.L. Bean catalog. He enjoyed buying cookware and a strong interest in trains throughout his whole life. He loved his family especially his nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed by all.

He is survived by his siblings, Jenny Balutewicz, Terry (Fran) Hansen, Lynn (Bill) Ball, Linda Oswald, Susan Daghy, and Lisa (Terry) Neace.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a niece, two nephews, and both sets of grandparents.

Funeral services are Tuesday, November 21st 2023 at 11:00 am with visitation from 9 am to 11 am at Burns Funeral Home Hobart, IN, with Jason Pena officiating. Burial to be held at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso, IN.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Life Community Church.
