Peter Winske - Class Of 1960

OBITUARY FROM THE TRIBUTE ARCHIVE WEBSITE:

Peter Winske, age 79, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022.

Peter was born on October 16, 1942, in East Chicago, Indiana. In 1950 his family moved to Hobart, Indiana where he grew up and graduated from Hobart High School, class of 1960. Peter earned his Bachelor of Arts in Russian History from Purdue University and went on to earn a Master of Arts in History from Indiana University.

Peter married Elaine Davis, also from Hobart, in 1965. They went on to have 2 children and a fulfilling life. Peter’s career in the telecommunications industry took his family on adventures in the Washington DC area, Minnesota, Illinois, Connecticut, Florida, and Germany. Peter was known for his sense of humor, kindness, and his passion for baseball. He was also an avid bridge player, achieving Life Master status. But best of all, he was an amazing father that supported his children unconditionally and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elaine; their children Alexander Winske and Patricia Sullens (Marty); their grandchildren, Alexander Winske and Olivia Sullens; and his brother Dan Winske. He is preceded in death by his sisters Kathy Jensen and Margert Brown and his parents Edith and Anton Winske.

He will be greatly missed and always remembered in the hearts of his loving family.
