Samuel (Sam) Wyatt - Class Of 1975

Samuel Lee Wyatt, 66 of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023. He was born January 6, 1957 in Gary, Indiana to Samuel and Mildred (Smith) Wyatt.

Sam is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon Lynn (McManus) Wyatt, his daughters, Christa (Ryan) Robertson of Melbourne, Florida and Candice (Aaron) Koseba of Healdsburg, California; grandson Harrison Koseba, granddaughters Harper Robertson and Remi Wyatt Koseba; three brothers, Stanley (Celeste) Wyatt, Bobby (Bernice) Wyatt and Shane Wyatt; three sister-in-laws, Cindy (Robert) Walker, Kathleen Albrecht, and Jacky (Greg) Wroblewski. Many nieces and nephews also survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James Vickery and Riley Lyn Vickery, and his brother-in-law Frank Albrecht.

Sam was a HVAC Specialist at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart for 40 years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Post 94 in Valparaiso, the Rosemore Hunting Club in Momence, Illinois, and was in the Boone and Crockett Record Book with a score of 210, 21 point buck. Sam was a chaplain for the Sons of the American Legion, a wrestling coach at Boone Grove Middle School where he started the wrestling club. Prior to his HVAC career, Sam was a high school teacher. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, gardening and cooking.

A Celebration of Life will take place from 2-6 PM on Friday, February 17th at the American Legion Post 94 in Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family. Bartholomew Funeral Home in Valparaiso is in charge of arrangements.
